What is the Fforde Ffiesta?
The Fforde Ffiesta is a celebration of the works of Jasper Fforde, it consists of two days of various events that tie in with Jasper Fforde’s books
Who are the Fforganisers?
They are a small band of similarly minded fans that got together with the aim of getting Fforde fans together for some silliness and the chance to get to know one another.
Will Jasper Fforde be there?
Most definitely, he is a constant presence
When is it being held?
It’s on 25th and 26th May 2019
Where is it being held?
It’s at the Village De Vere Hotel in Swindon
How do I get to Swindon?
Swindon is only an hour away by train from London Paddington and the Village De Vere is three miles from the station. There is a good bus service or taxis
The nearest airports are London Heathrow or Bristol and you can catch trains or coaches to Swindon
If you are coming by car exit at Junction 16 of the M4 and follow signs for West Swindon Centre
How much does it cost to come?
Tickets cost £70 each
Where can I buy a ticket?
You can buy your ticket here
Do I have to buy my ticket in advance?
Yes, tickets are only sold in advance so that we can gauge interest and number and cater appropriately.
What does the ticket price cover?
Your ticket price includes entry to events over the weekend and your welcome pack which includes your personalised ticket, programme, lanyard and other goodies.
Do I have to pay for anything else?
The only things that are not included are the cost of your hotel room and food
I’ve bought my ticket, what happens now?
Our administrator will send you your confirmation letter, details on how to book your hotel room at the De Vere and what you need to prepare beforehand for the event
When will I get my welcome pack?
You will get your welcome pack when you register at the event.
I bought my ticket but now I can’t come. Can I get a refund?
Unfortunately, we cannot refund tickets and deposits unless the event is cancelled. If the event is cancelled by the Fforganisers, only the face value of the ticket will be refunded. Should an external event beyond the control of the Fforganisers force cancellation, refunds will be limited to the amounts that can be recovered
I can only attend for one day; can I buy a day ticket?
Sorry, we only sell tickets for the whole weekend
Can I bring my children?
Yes, children up to and including the age of 10 attend free of charge, they just won’t get a welcome pack. There are no events that are unsuitable for children and the hotel is child friendly.
Do I have to prepare anything before I come?
There are a few things but you will be given the information in your confirmation letter
I’m coming alone and don’t know anyone – will I still enjoy myself?
Of course you will! We start off with a quiz on Friday evening as an icebreaker to help you meet and make friends before we start officially on Saturday and then we put you in small teams for some of the events so you will not be on your own for long. We have also designed the events so everyone is included and cared for.
I’m quite shy, help!
We like to keep our eyes on anyone who is on their own and we know how difficult it is to ‘fit in’ If you do feel a bit overwhelmed please find one of the Fforganisers who will be easy to spot in their black tee shirts and we will be happy to help. Also see the question above.
